How to get started with quantum computing as a SME

With its first data center in Vienna, Austria, QMware is committed to bringing quantum computing into industry applications in Austria. Therefore, the team is participating in QuantumReady, a project promoted by Quantum Austria.

To help enable small and medium-sized enterprises (SME) in Austria to explore quantum computing capabilities, the project contracts leading technology and industry experts. Drivers behind the consortium are the Johannes Kepler University Linz, HAKOM Time Series, ESS Engineering Software Steyr and QMware under the direction of the Software Competence Center Hagenberg.

This three-year project focuses on developing industrial use cases for quantum computing, specifically in simulations, optimization tasks, and time series analyses. The project aims to enable SMEs in Austria to explore the potential of quantum computing and implement it in their first case studies.

The quantum computing focused initiative is the first of its kind. SMEs can gain expertise in realizing higher levels of computing power using different computer architectures, including QMware’s hybrid quantum computing cloud. This quantum-classical approach offers numerous application possibilities in the economy and has clear benefits over pure quantum computing, which can be error-prone in the hardware.
